Signature Mall
What to do with old industrial buildings in an urban context is an important issue. These types of buildings can easily fall into disuse or host low-value activities that fail to provide meaningful economic or social benefits to the community. Worse, they risk becoming areas that detract from the urban environment rather than contributing to it. This challenge becomes even more significant in a town like Bradford, where urban regeneration plays a critical role.
Our client approached us with a bold vision: to transform a near-abandoned industrial building into a concept mall. They sought a striking and memorable design that would represent the brands housed within, guide shoppers, and create a space that meets modern expectations. Our proposal was to create a design that embodies unity within diversity, reflecting the innovative and iconoclastic nature of the interior on the building's exterior. By incorporating various types of metal cladding, the façade was carefully crafted to achieve a harmonious blend of visual impact and thoughtful design. Altogether, we believe we achieved a solution that honours the building’s industrial past while establishing a dynamic and engaging future for it.
